ART/oberfest, yes!
ART/oberfest is gaining steam! Our wonderful committee members have hit the streets, leaving applications at local businesses and setting up our display at local events. In the past month, we've attended the OU Volunteer Fair and Final Fridays on the Square in Nelsonville. We had great responses at both events, and you'll be able to visit the ART/oberfest display again at the September Final Friday. That's Friday, September 26, on the Public Square in Nelsonville! Applications for both vendors and artists will be available at that event.
Just a reminder, ART/oberfest will be held at ARTS/West, located at 132 W. State Street in Athens. The festival will open on Friday, October 17 at 6 pm with a reception for artists and community members. The Aquabear Legion will be curating a musical showcase from 7 pm to 10 pm. Acts booked so far are local favorites Russenorsk and Bram Riddlebarger & His Lonesome Band. Sweet!
Festivities will continue Saturday with an open air art fair, which will be held in the ARTS/West parking lot from 10 am to 6 pm. Throughout the day there will also be performances of all kinds in the ARTS/West performance space AND children's activities!
Expect more of the same great stuff on Sunday, minus the art fair. Sunday will feature performances and art demonstrations. Festivities will start at 2 pm and continue until 7 pm.
And of course, you can expect awesome art made by your friends and neighbors to be on display all weekend long!
